Dine Out For Kids® on Tuesday, June 15

Help make a difference in the life of a child by supporting Dine Out For Kids® on Tuesday, June 15! Dine Out For Kids® is a community-wide event and partnership between Communities In Schools, the Greater Charlotte Hospitality & Tourism Alliance (HTA), and The Charlotte Observer that offers area restaurants an opportunity to support and demonstrate their commitment to helping at-risk children succeed in school and life. With 66 area restaurant locations joining the event this year, the 11th annual Dine Out For Kids® is on track to dish up great food and fun for the many local restaurant patrons who will be dining all day to benefit some of the neediest, most vulnerable children in our community.

The nation’s dropout rate is at an all-time high, and 2,000 of those dropouts are right here in Charlotte Mecklenburg every year. The mission of Communities In Schools is focused on dropout prevention by helping young people to stay in school, successfully learn, graduate and be prepared for life.

Area restaurants participating in the event agree to donate a portion of the day’s gross sales to benefit Communities In Schools and the children it serves. In addition to the generosity of participating restaurants, the following 2010 corporate sponsors help make this event a success: RBC Bank, The Charlotte Observer, HMS Host, Piedmont Natural Gas, Greater Charlotte Hospitality & Tourism Alliance (HTA), Charlotte Hospitality News, and Grant Thornton.
